For most P&C carriers, delivering a best-in-class experience for independent agents is critical to the success of your business. Unfortunately, both sides aren’t always aligned on what defines a great experience–often leading to frustration and confusion that has lingering financial effects.
Glia surveyed 500+ P&C independent agents to learn what they define as great service and what tangibly differentiates carriers in their eyes. Here were a few of our findings:
1. With so many carrier self-service offerings, agents are shifting their books over to carriers that offer them the simplest path to conduct business–often deprioritizing the importance of price.
2. Agents want more options for how they can communicate with carriers that fit in with a busy schedule. Current 9-5 phone and email support is not meeting their needs.
3. Insurers can compete with larger-wallet carriers by innovating the way they marry their people + technology with their agents. Extending support hours through AI and OnScreen collaboration are a few ways agents say a carrier can differentiate and provide a better CX.
